The Evolution of Magick
Magick was once a very simple concept among human beings in prehistoric times, and was considered as the special ability to effect change — something that the average person could not do or explain. In the past, nature and the happenings in the sky were seen as magickal, as was the pregnant female or the ability to obtain a harvest from the fields.
Over the course of many years and political regimes, magick evolved from a reverence of nature to an idea that some people consorted with evil spirits or entities and could get them to cause things to happen. However, in recent times, we have begun to embrace the idea that magick is the ability to manipulate energy, and we now understand there is no such thing as ‘mass’ as we knew it 30 years ago, only energy and waves, but there’s more.
Universal Law of Ritual
The Universal Law of Ritual states that repeated actions of a group create more energy because all of the energy will be compounded (like interest) into said action and directed as willed by participants of that ritual. I can’t remember where I learned this, but if you understand energy and spirit energy emanations, it makes sense. Additionally certain plant, herbs, rocks and other elements have their own energy, which cause or aid certain happenings that are needed by practictioners of magick, i.e. for healings, bindings, etc. Witchcraft is the science of learning how to understand and use all of these energies effectively to get to a desired outcome –basically that’s it – nothing spooky. This is why books of shadows or circle secrets can be quite valuable because not all are privy to the same information and not all have the desire or energy to learn. Hollywood and the church (which is typically run by governments who need people to be unempowered) are responsible for creating any other concepts about magick.
Lastly, there is the cooperation with other non-corporeal entities who are either in physical bodies or not. As with people, non-physical entities or energy beings have desires, strength levels, rankings and preferences and can associate with a family, coven or person to provide even more strength, power, energy or magickal info.
Most humans, who are behind a veil, just don’t understand any of these concepts, but that is okay. They probably could not handle them anyway since we tend not to lean to the side of pure love while carnally embodied on this planet.
I am sure that as we evolve as a species, we will add more dimensions to my very basic understanding of this topic, and I look forward to our enlightenment regarding this subject.
