Can you handle it?
In this age of softness and coddling, not many can. Most everything is considered trauma, but when considering true trauma, who has lauded the rewards it brings?
To go through. To sit in the depths of darkness does yield a reward.
If you look at your life honestly, you must realize that most of your profound rewards, be it a baby, a marriage, or a Ph.D., came from some form of pain.
There is a sweetness to pain, and to respect it is, to some extent, a gift.
The deep agonies of misconception and hurt; the lifelong shadows of rejection; the pure discomfort of physical pain; all leave scars, yet all offer some form of humbling, release, and reward.
Woe to the one who causes you undue pain, but blessings to you who endure it.
Ase.
